Ingredients

  • 4 cups chilled orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
  • 2 cups chilled pineapple juice
  • ½ to 3/4 cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec), optional but recommended
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) chilled dry sparkling wine (Prosecco, Cava, or Champagne)
  • 1 to 2 cups chilled sparkling water (optional, for a lighter punch)
  • 2 oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced (optional for brightness)
  • 1 cup fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)
  • Ice (large cubes or an ice ring for a punch bowl)
  • Fresh mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Chill everything first. Cold ingredients keep the bubbles lively and reduce dilution. Pop the juices, sparkling wine, and sparkling water in the fridge for several hours.
  • Prep the fruit. Slice oranges and lemon into thin rounds. Rinse berries and pat dry. Set aside a few slices for individual glasses if you like.
  • Mix the base. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine orange juice, pineapple juice, and orange liqueur. Stir gently to blend.
  • Add the fruit. Slip in the orange and lemon slices, plus the berries. This infuses flavor and looks festive.
  • Top with bubbles right before serving. Pour in the sparkling wine. If you prefer a lighter punch, add sparkling water as well. Stir once, very gently, to avoid knocking out the fizz.
  • Ice it smart. Add a few large ice cubes or an ice ring to the punch bowl. For a pitcher, add ice to individual glasses so the punch doesn’t get diluted.
  • Garnish and serve. Float a few mint sprigs on top. Ladle into glasses and garnish with an orange slice or berries.
