Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

Instructions

  • Let the butter soften at room temperature until it yields easily to a gentle press without looking greasy.
  • Beat the softened butter in a medium bowl with a hand mixer until light and fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the honey, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, then beat until fully combined and creamy, about 30 to 60 seconds.
  • Taste and adjust by adding more honey for sweetness, more cinnamon for warmth, or a tiny pinch of salt to balance.
  • Transfer to a jar or ramekin and serve immediately, or chill to firm up before spreading.

Notes

Use salted butter and omit or reduce the added salt if preferred. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months; bring to room temperature 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Sift cinnamon if clumpy and avoid starting with cold or melted butter to maintain a fluffy texture. Variations: swap honey for brown sugar or maple syrup, use vanilla bean, pumpkin pie spice, chai spices, caramel, or fold in finely chopped toasted pecans.
