Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen seedless watermelon cubes
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cups very cold or semi-frozen dry rosé
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup vodka
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons simple syrup or agave, optional
  • Ice, optional, as needed for thickness
  • Watermelon wedges, strawberry slices, or lime wheels, for garnish

Instructions

Instructions

  • Cut seedless watermelon into 1-inch cubes, spread on a parchment-lined sheet pan, and freeze until solid.
  • If using fresh strawberries, hull them and freeze on a sheet pan, or use bagged frozen strawberries.
  • Chill the rosé until very cold, or semi-freeze it in a shallow dish for 2 to 3 hours until slushy but not solid.
  • Add frozen watermelon, frozen strawberries, cold or semi-frozen rosé, vodka, and lime juice to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and thick.
  • Taste and adjust: add simple syrup for more sweetness, a splash of rosé if too thick, or more frozen fruit or a little ice if too thin.
  • Pour into chilled glasses, garnish as desired, and serve immediately while frosty.

Notes

For make-ahead, freeze the fruit and semi-freeze the rosé. You can also blend everything except vodka and lime, freeze, then reblend with vodka and lime before serving. Store leftovers in a freezer-safe container up to 1 month; scrape and reblend with a splash of rosé or water to loosen. Dry rosé keeps the drink crisp; avoid over-blending to prevent thinning. Variations: add mint and extra lime, rim with Tajín for spice, swap lime for lemon, add peaches, or a splash of coconut water. Zero-proof: use nonalcoholic rosé and replace vodka with coconut water or more fruit.
